All that pot Alex buried in the creek was later dug up by two young brothers having a campout. As they threw it into the fire, they couldn't understand why they were laughing so much.

 

While raiding the house for Capri Suns and Captain Crunch and Pop Tarts, they stumbled upon their father in bed with a woman who wasn't their mother.

 

Years later, after the divorce, the boys would often smoke pot in the creek to escape their feelings of inadequacy.
