The Consolation of Oblivion

 

Pixie was picked up by a young couple not long after losing her way from home in a white fog of snow. She was loved every day of her life, spoiled by a little girl who couldn't fall asleep at night without first feeling her tiny frame pressed against her belly in the bed.

 

She lived to be older than most dogs, but she never forgot that boy who would sneak her bites under the table as a puppy.
